World
of Work
World
of Work programs were developed in 1999, offering job
search skills and placement assistance to adults (over
age 18) who have mental illness along with a history
of substance dependence or a history of homelessness.
The program provides individual coaching and group workshops
to prepare the job-seeker for employment. They teach
resume writing, interview techniques, job expectations,
time management, money management, how to interact with
the boss and co-workers, and much more. Post employment
support is provided.
WOW
- Brooklyn has utilized the RSH workbooks created by
the DRT employment services. WOW has a Networking and
Job Club. They work closely with the Open Door Club
and clinic. To-date WOW has assisted 200 constituents
in obtaining jobs.
WOW - Queens has a job club often securing guest speakers
on social security and training programs. They offer
seasonal work to their participants with their connection
with Aramak at Shea Stadium.
World
of Work Brooklyn & Queens are Ticket to Work Approved
