Assisted
Competitive Employment
(ACE)
Assisted Competitive Employment (ACE) is funded through
Community Reinvestment monies and was created in 1994.
Through intensive job coaching, consumers of mental
health are offered the opportunity to work on-the-job
in integrated settings, i.e. enclaves and supported
employment placements. Services offered include career
exploration, individual and group counseling, internet
access to job opportunities, and work behavior training.
ACE
is participating in an Employment Chat Room pilot project.
Members of ACE, FEGS and Nassau Placement Network chat
on-line weekly (at a designated time) discussing a host
of employment issues they are currently facing. ACE
has also developed a mentoring program and affords those
who have achieved gainful employment to stay connected
via the " Taxpayers Club ".
ACE
is a Ticket to Work Approved Employment Program.
